Arusha National Park, the park’s lakes are filled with thousands of flamingos and famous for their thousands of birds, where you might also spot the rare black and white colobus monkey. Tarangire National Park It is famous for its large numbers of game who gather around the river, particularly around the dry season because it is the only source of water. The park has the world’s largest elephant herds of 200 and higher. Also famous for its baobabs trees that can live for hundreds of years. Lake Manyara National Park is the smallest yet most beautiful park in northern Tanzania. Apart from the various fauna like lions perched in the umbrella acacia tree, one can also enjoy seeing beautiful flamingos along Salt Lake. Serengeti Park is famous for its beautiful plains, Kopjes and annual migration of the wildebeest, zebras, gazelles and many other species. The extraordinary Ngorongoro crater, the ancient collapsed volcano which ended up forming as a Caldera, with more than 30,000 animals has found refuge there. The Ngorongoro crater has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The Arusha National Park is part of a larger regional ecosystem of Mount Meru - Kilimanjaro - Amboseli the eastern edge of the Great Rift Valley. Below the breathtaking cliff face of Mount Meru’s peaks, the slopes are covered by the montane forest. Among the various species inhabited are hundreds of giraffe, zebra, buffalo, black and white colobus etc.
A second much smaller crater, “Ngurdoto”, and a series of fresh and alkaline lakes provide additional drama to this intensely pressured and under-appreciated park. The park’s lakes are filled with thousands of flamingos. Within the relatively small confines of the park, are a rich and uniquely diverse collection of habitats that ensure a diversity of flora and fauna which are easy to spot.

Departing from Arusha in the morning to reach the beautiful park of Tarangire, located about 3 hours away. Tarangire, which translates to “river of warthogs” is the 6th largest park in Tanzania. It is famous for its large numbers of game who gather around the river particularly around the dry season because it is the only source of water. Apart from large numbers of game, the park is widely known as a haven for birdwatchers because of the vast bird species that can be spotted. The 2,600sq. Km sized park has the second highest animals concentration right after Serengeti National Park. It has the world’s largest elephant herds of 200 and higher. Also famous for its baobabs trees that can live for hundreds of years (Baobab trees are soft and spongy and waterlogged). The rarer species such as the oryx, the lesser kudu and the kori bustard, the largest of the flying birds can be spotted too.

After breakfast you will depart with lunch boxes and head to Lake Manyara National Park about 40 minutes drive. Another great day of beautiful scenery in the smallest park in northern Tanzania, Lake Manyara Park. Although it is of a rather small area around 330 sq. km, of which the lake alone represents 200 sq km. Along the Rift Valley, the park is an exceptional site which allows the observation of wide variety of fauna such as lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos etc. The edges of the lake are populated by thousands of flamingos in perpetual migration, and many pelicans, fish eagles, sacred ibises, crowned cranes and has more than 400 species of birds. It is not uncommon to observe a unique spectacle in Africa: the lions perched in the umbrella acacias.

It takes just over 2 hours to reach the plains of the famous Serengeti National Park. Proclaimed a National Park in 1951 and was formally declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1981. During this great morning, one begins to venture into the plains of Serengeti which are 30,000 sq. Km wide and offers the traveller magnificent panoramic views in northern Tanzania. The name is derived from a Maasai word “Siringit” which means “endless plains”. From the west of Ngorongoro, wildlife gradually regains control of the land. The day will be ended with game spotting in the plains before arriving at your overnight camp/lodge to continue with another adventure in the morning.

An early morning departure for a great discovery of animal paradise, discover the Ngorongoro crater. Declared a world heritage site in 1979 by UNESCO, it is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world. This collapsed volcano is about 20 km in diameter, with impressive walls which are 400 to 610 metres high and 1,600 metres above sea level, the bottom of the crater is predominantly open grassland, making it easy to observe wildlife. The landscape is made up of the Lerai forest, a sawmill forest of trees whose particularity is yellow acacias, lake Magadi where you can witness thousands of pink flamingos preening and reflecting in the still waters
and two swamps, Mandusi and Gorigor. Unlike national parks where all human activity is prohibited. Here at the conservation the Maasai and the animals co-exist together. When you arrive on the edge of the crater ridge, you discover a breathtaking view of this animal paradise descending into the crater.
After experiencing one of the World’s natural wonders the ascent to the rim begins, which marks the end of the amazing experience.
