Departing from Arusha in the morning to reach the beautiful park of Tarangire, located about 3 hours away. Tarangire, which translates to “river of warthogs” is the 6th largest park in Tanzania. It is famous for its large numbers of game who gather around the river particularly around the dry season because it is the only source of water. Apart from large numbers of game, the park is widely known as a haven for birdwatchers because of the vast bird species that can be spotted. The 2,600sq. Km sized park has the second highest animals concentration right after Serengeti National Park. It has the world’s largest elephant herds of 200 and higher. Also famous for its baobabs trees that can live for hundreds of years (Baobab trees are soft and spongy and waterlogged). The rarer species such as the oryx, the lesser kudu and the kori bustard, the largest of the flying birds can be spotted too.

It takes just over 2 hours to reach the plains of the famous Serengeti National Park. Proclaimed a National Park in 1951 and was formally declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1981. During this great morning, one begins to venture into the plains of Serengeti which are 30,000 sq. Km wide and offers the traveller magnificent panoramic views in northern Tanzania. The name is derived from a Maasai word “Siringit” which means “endless plains”. From the west of Ngorongoro, wildlife gradually regains control of the land. The day will be ended with game spotting in the plains before arriving at your overnight camp/lodge to continue with another adventure in the morning.
Dinner and Overnight at Tingitana Camp.
An early morning departure for a great discovery of animal paradise, discover the Ngorongoro crater. Declared a world heritage site in 1979 by UNESCO, it is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world. This collapsed volcano is about 20 km in diameter, with impressive walls which are 400 to 610 metres high and 1,600 metres above sea level, the bottom of the crater is predominantly open grassland, making it easy to observe wildlife. The landscape is made up of the Lerai forest, a sawmill forest of trees whose particularity is yellow acacias, lake Magadi where you can witness thousands of pink flamingos preening and reflecting in the still waters
and two swamps, Mandusi and Gorigor. Unlike national parks where all human activity is prohibited. Here at the conservation the Maasai and the animals co-exist together. When you arrive on the edge of the crater ridge, you discover a breathtaking view of this animal paradise descending into the crater.
After experiencing one of the World’s natural wonders the ascent to the rim begins, which marks the end of the amazing experience.
